Hi Spencer,
I recently tried to your plugin with a RSS Feed to show my MobileMe galleries. Unfortunately it doesn’t work. I use SimplePie to debug the whole thing and get the following message for every image in the gallery:

images; setting status to -1
RSSPhoto v0.8 debug output END
–>

Any Idea what this is about?

There is something bugging me though. There is no padding below the image. The image hits the bottom of the sidebox and If I allow the feed product titles to show (preferred), the image drops below the bottom of the sidebox. Meaning, the sidebox doesn’t expand with the image.

As luck would have it I just got it fixed! Yayyy I’m happy to have my rssphoto feed back! The problem wasn’t with my feed url after all. The problem turned out to be in a different file which in turn affected my rss feed in my zencart. That’s why rssphoto couldn’t pick up the feed. Thanks for being there to offer a hand.

sorry it took me a few days to get back to you!

that URL you posted seems to point to a website that doesn’t contain any information. can you tell me the address of the website that has the feed? i could look for the right feed.

i assume you’re using the widget in WordPress and if so, you don’t have to wrap the link in any code.

I recently had to rebuild my blog and lost my settings for the rss photo plugin.

I can’t remember what I used for my feed link. I know I got it from my zencart but when I use the link now it’s not working. The widget works with your default link in there so we know it does work.

This is what my feed link looks like

feed://mywebsite.com/index.php?main_page=rss_feed&feed=new_products

am I supposed to wrap the link in some code? I just can’t remember.

I had it working previously.

Any suggestions?

Hi Chris,

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you! This has been a very busy few weeks. On the random display of images, one thing to check first: there are two things to specify “random” or “most recently” – one is selection of feed items within the feed, and another is selection of images within a single feed item. You’d want to select random for “Item Selection”. “Image Selection” in your case doesn’t matter since there is only one image per feed item.

I suspect that’s the problem because I verified the random selection was working on my website. I’ve been feeling like those labels are kind of confusing/misleading. I’ll have to think about how to change them.

I’ve just discovered a bad thing :
I suppose the limit of 15 images showing with your sidebar widget comes from the RSS feed itself

I just called the RSS URL http://vi.sualize.us/rss/csign/) and it shows only 15 images

OK, that problems seems to be solved, or have you another idea?

Second problem remains, to show images in sidebar widget randomly not most recent?
